RCB IPL 2025 Retained & Released Players List
The 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is still few months away, but teams are already getting ready. Each of the ten teams will need to change their squads and find the best players for their positions. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), led by Faf du Plessis, had a good run last season but ended in the Eliminator stage.
RCB is eager to win the title, as they haven’t yet claimed it despite being part of the IPL from the very start. With the IPL 2025 auction approaching, each team can only keep 3-4 players, and the rest will be up for grabs. So, let’s look at the four players RCB might want to keep before the IPL 2025 auction.
RCB IPL 2025 Retained Players list
Here are four players Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) might retain for IPL 2025:
Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli will surely be the first player RCB keeps. He has been the face of the team for years and helped RCB grow. His batting has been steady, and he finished IPL 2024 with the Orange Cap, scoring the most runs in the tournament.
He made 741 runs with an average of 61.75 and a strike rate of 154.69, hitting one century and five half-centuries.
Rajat Patidar
Rajat Patidar, 32 years old, has become an important part of RCB in the past few seasons. His good form in the second half of IPL 2024 helped the team reach the playoffs.
He made 395 runs with a strike rate of 177.13 and five half-centuries. RCB helped him grow into a reliable player, and letting him go would be a bad choice.
Mohammed Siraj
Mohammed Siraj is now a key bowler for RCB and leads their bowling attack. He has grown as a bowler while playing for the team and is now a top choice for India in all formats.
Siraj took 15 wickets in IPL 2024 and bowls well at Chinnaswamy Stadium, which is tough for bowlers. RCB will likely want him for the next season too.
Glenn Maxwell or Will Jacks
With Faf du Plessis turning 38, RCB may not keep him for long. This opens the door for either Glenn Maxwell or Will Jacks. Maxwell had a poor IPL 2024 season with both bat and ball, and there are rumors he might leave, as he unfollowed RCB on social media.
If he leaves, Will Jacks could be a good replacement. The English all-rounder has similar skills and was more consistent, scoring 230 runs in just 8 innings, including a century. One of these two will likely be RCB’s fourth pick for IPL 2025.
