The highest run-scorers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025! Discover which batsman currently holds the orange cap for scoring the most runs in IPL 2025. Virat Kohli, newly appointed RCB captain, holds the record for the highest total runs in IPL history. Kohli has scored 8004 runs from 244 innings across 252 matches, including 8 centuries and 55 half-centuries.
Next up is PBKS captain Shikhar Dhawan, another top Indian batsman with 6769 runs in 222 IPL matches, placing him second after Kohli in the all-time run charts. The third spot goes to Australian player David Warner, who has scored 6565 runs in 184 matches with a strike rate of 139.77.
Among the top ten IPL run-scorers, three players have represented Royal Challengers Bangalore—Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Dinesh Karthik. Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the five-time IPL champion, also boasts three players on this list: “Mr. IPL” Suresh Raina, CSK’s former captain MS Dhoni, and Robin Uthappa.

List of Batsman with Highest Run in IPL History
At the top of the all-time scoring list is Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Virat Kohli. The long-time RCB captain has scored an impressive 7263 runs in 237 games. Kohli, one of RCB’s first signings in 2008, has hit seven centuries, the highest in IPL history, and 50 half-centuries. In the 2016 season, he led RCB to the final and scored a record-breaking 923 runs in a single season for the franchise.
