The 18th edition of the IPL 2025 kicks off with the Chennai Super Kings playing against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday, March 22. The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a fast-paced cricket league, based on the shortest 20-over format where each team’s bowling time is limited to 90 minutes. Scoring a century in this limited time and overs is challenging for batters.
However, over the years, the IPL has witnessed some incredible batting. Centuries are celebrated every season, with last year setting a record for the most centuries in a single IPL edition. A total of 13 centuries were scored, breaking the previous record of 12 in 2023.

In third place is English cricketer Jos Buttler, who has hit 7 centuries and scored a total of 3582 runs in 107 matches. His top score in IPL history is 124 runs.

IPL Most Centuries 2025
Virat Kohli and Jos Buttler share the record for the most centuries in a single season of the IPL. Kohli, from Delhi, scored four centuries in 2016 and won the IPL Orange Cap. Similarly, Buttler scored four centuries in the 2022 season.
