The lowest score in IPL history belongs to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). This happened in 2017 at Eden Gardens during a match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). It was a low-scoring game, with KKR putting up only 131 runs in 19.3 overs, which was below average. RCB were expected to win easily.

However, things didn’t go as planned. KKR’s bowlers dominated, and none of RCB’s batters could even reach double digits. RCB collapsed, scoring just 49 runs in 9.4 overs, losing the game in a shocking defeat. The highest score for RCB was 9 runs, made by Kedar Jadhav.

Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru – 58 All out

The second-lowest score in IPL history is from Rajasthan Royals (RR). This happened during the 2009 season against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Cape Town. It was just the second game of the season, and RCB won the toss, choosing to bat first.

RCB didn’t start well either, as their top three batters only scored three runs combined. However, they managed to put up 133/8 in 20 overs, with Rahul Dravid scoring 66 runs off 48 balls.

When it was RR’s turn to chase, they had a bad start too. They lost three wickets for just 14 runs and couldn’t recover. RR ended up scoring only 58 runs in 15.1 overs, losing the game. Anil Kumble’s incredible bowling spell of 5 wickets for 5 runs was the highlight of the match.

Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru – 59 All out

The third-lowest score in IPL history happened during the 2023 season. It was the 60th match of the season, played in Jaipur between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

RCB batted first and put up a solid total of 171/5. When it was RR’s turn to chase, things went wrong from the start. Both openers got out without scoring any runs. RR could only manage 59 runs in 10.3 overs, losing the match by a huge margin of 112 runs.

Delhi Daredevils vs Mumbai Indians – 66 All Out

The 2017 IPL season was tough for Delhi as they finished near the bottom of the table. In one of their matches against Punjab, they were all out for 67 runs. But things got even worse when they faced Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

In this game, MI batted first and put up a huge score of 212/3, with Lendl Simmons scoring 66 and Keiron Pollard adding 63. Chasing such a big target, Delhi struggled and couldn’t keep up with the run rate. They were bowled out for just 66 runs in 13.4 overs, losing by a massive 146 runs.

Delhi Daredevils vs Kings XI Punjab – 67 All Out

Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) had one of their worst performances in the 2017 IPL season. This happened during the 36th game of the tournament against Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in Mohali.

Delhi batted first but struggled a lot, managing only 67 runs in 17.1 overs. Sandeep Sharma bowled brilliantly, taking 4 wickets for 20 runs. In reply, Punjab easily chased the target, scoring 68 runs without losing any wickets in just 7.5 overs, winning the match by ten wickets.

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Mumbai Indians – 67 All out

In the 2008 IPL season, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) recorded one of the lowest scores in the tournament’s history. This happened during a match against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium. KKR struggled with their batting, losing wickets quickly and getting all out for just 67 runs in 15.2 overs. This remains KKR’s lowest score in IPL history.

Mumbai Indians chased the target easily, scoring 68/2 in just 5.3 overs, winning the match with 87 balls left. Sanath Jayasuriya was the star for MI, hitting 48* runs off only 17 balls.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Sunrisers Hyderabad – 68 All out

Another tough game for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) happened in the 2022 IPL season against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). This match, the 36th of the tournament, was played at Brabourne Stadium. After winning the toss, SRH chose to bowl first.

RCB had a bad day with the bat, managing only 68 runs in 16.1 overs, with 12 of those runs coming from extras. SRH easily chased the target, scoring 72/1 in just 8 overs, and won the game by nine wickets.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Chennai Super Kings – 70 All Out

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has been all out for 70 runs twice in IPL history. One of these low scores happened in 2019 during a match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chepauk Stadium. CSK won the toss and chose to bowl first.

RCB struggled against the CSK spinners, who took nine wickets between them. RCB could only manage 70 runs in 17.1 overs, with Parthiv Patel being the only batter to reach double digits, scoring 29 runs. CSK chased the target easily, scoring 71/3 in 17.4 overs and winning the match.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Rajasthan Royals – 70 All out

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has faced several low scores in IPL history. One of these happened in the 2014 season during a match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Abu Dhabi. RR won the toss and decided to bowl first.

RCB struggled with their batting, and only one of their top seven batters managed to score in double digits. They were all out for just 70 runs in 15 overs. Pravin Tambe from RR took 4 wickets for 21 runs. Rajasthan chased the target easily, scoring 71/4 in 13 overs, and won the game.

Kings XI Punjab vs Pune Supergiant – 73 All out

The lowest score in IPL history for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) happened in the 2017 season against Rising Pune Supergiant. It was the 55th game of the season, and Punjab had to bat first after losing the toss.

Things went wrong right away, as they lost their first wicket on the very first ball. By the end of the powerplay, they had already lost five wickets. Punjab was all out for just 73 runs in 15.5 overs, with Axar Patel scoring the highest with 22 runs. Pune chased the target easily, making 78/1 in 12 overs and winning the game.
