They should go through the auction process.” She explained that treating senior players as uncapped lowers their value, and it’s better to let the auction determine their worth, respecting their contributions to the game.

Kavya Maran’s statement seems to indirectly reference Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) idea to retain Mahendra Singh Dhoni as an uncapped player for IPL 2025, sparking more debate ahead of the mega auction.
