Chris Gayle IPL Fastest Century – 30 Balls vs PWI
Chris Gayle is a legend when it comes to T20 cricket. It’s no surprise that he holds the record for the fastest 100 in IPL history. In one of the most amazing matches, Gayle scored a century in just 30 balls! He didn’t stop there—he went on to score an unbeaten 175 runs from 66 balls. This included 13 fours and an incredible 17 sixes.
In that match, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) posted a massive total of 263/5. Pune Warriors India tried to chase the score but only managed to reach 133/9. RCB won the match by 130 runs. Gayle’s 175 remains the highest score by any batter in T20 cricket history.
Yusuf Pathan – 37 Balls vs MI
Chasing centuries is always exciting, especially under pressure. One memorable century came in the 2010 IPL season when Yusuf Pathan smashed a 37-ball century.
Mumbai Indians batted first and put up a big score of 212/6, which was considered huge at that time. Rajasthan Royals (RR) struggled, and most of their batters couldn’t score much. But Yusuf Pathan took charge and kept hitting big shots.
He reached 100 runs in just 37 balls, including nine fours and eight sixes. Even with his heroic effort, RR only managed to score 208/7 and lost the match by four runs.
David Miller – 38 Balls vs RCB
David Miller holds a special record in T20 cricket as the only batter in the world to score two centuries in 38 balls or fewer. His fastest century in T20 International came in just 35 balls, and in the IPL, he has a 38-ball century to his name.
This incredible IPL century came in 2013 against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Mohali. RCB set a big target, scoring 190/3 in their first inning. However, Miller played a stunning knock, smashing 101* off just 38 balls, including 8 fours and 7 sixes. His powerful batting helped Punjab Kings chase the total, reaching 194/4 in just 18 overs, winning the match in style.
Travis Head – 39 Balls vs RCB
Travis Head lit up IPL 2024 with his amazing batting skills, scoring the fastest century of the season. In a record-breaking game, both teams scored over 260 runs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batted first and posted the highest total in IPL history, 287/3. Head played a brilliant innings, reaching his century in just 39 balls. He went on to score 102 runs from 41 balls, hitting nine fours and eight sixes.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) also put up a great fight with the bat, but they fell short by 25 runs, finishing at 262/7.
Will Jacks – 41 Balls vs GT
England’s Will Jacks proved himself as a powerful hitter in IPL 2024. In a match against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium, he smashed a 41-ball century.
Gujarat Titans batted first and posted a solid score of 200/3. However, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) responded quickly, reaching 206/1 in just 16 overs.
Jacks was the star of the chase, scoring his first fifty runs off 31 balls, and then speeding to his century by adding the next 50 runs in just 10 balls. He finished unbeaten at 100* from 41 balls, hitting five fours and ten sixes. RCB won the game by nine wickets, thanks to his brilliant knock.
Adam Gilchrist – 42 Balls vs Mumbai Indians
Adam Gilchrist made history by scoring two centuries in the IPL, becoming only the fourth batter to achieve this feat. His first century came during the inaugural season in a match against Mumbai Indians at DY Patil Stadium.
Mumbai Indians posted a total of 154/7 in their 20 overs. Deccan Chargers made the chase look easy, reaching 155/0 in just 12 overs, winning the match by ten wickets. VVS Laxman contributed with 37* off 26 balls, while Gilchrist stole the show by hitting a 42-ball century.
He remained unbeaten on 109* off 47 balls, smashing nine fours and ten sixes. It was a remarkable performance by the legendary wicketkeeper-batter.
AB de Villiers- 43 Balls vs Gujarat Lions
Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have registered many powerful partnerships for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). One of their best came in 2016 against Gujarat Lions in Bengaluru, where they set the record for the highest partnership in IPL history.
In this memorable match, both Kohli and de Villiers scored centuries. De Villiers reached his century in just 43 balls. RCB posted a huge total of 248/3, with de Villiers remaining unbeaten at 129* off 52 balls and Kohli scoring 109 off 55 balls. Together, they added 229 runs for the second wicket.
Gujarat Lions could only manage 104 runs in reply, and RCB won the match by a massive 144 runs. It was a dominating performance by the dynamic duo of Kohli and de Villiers.
David Warner – 43 Balls vs KKR
David Warner is one of the greatest overseas players to have ever played in the IPL. His name appears on almost every major batting record. He has scored four IPL centuries, and his third came in 2017 against Kolkata Knight Riders in Hyderabad.
Warner’s century came in the first innings, where Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a total of 209/3. Warner played an outstanding knock, reaching his century in just 43 balls. He went on to score 126 off 59 balls, hitting 10 fours and 8 sixes.
In the second innings, Kolkata Knight Riders could only manage 161/7, losing the match by 48 runs. It was another brilliant performance by Warner, proving his strength as a top IPL star.
Sanath Jayasuriya – 45 Balls vs CSK
Sanath Jayasuriya became the fifth batter to score a century in the IPL. Playing for Mumbai Indians, he smashed a 45-ball century against Chennai Super Kings in 2008.
The match took place at Wankhede Stadium, where Chennai Super Kings posted 156/6 in their first innings. Mumbai Indians chased the target easily, scoring 158/1 in just 13.5 overs to win the game.
Jayasuriya was the star of the match, hitting an unbeaten 114* off 48 balls, including nine fours and 11 sixes.
Mayank Agarwal – 45 Balls vs RR
Mayank Agarwal holds the record for the second-fastest IPL century by an Indian batter. He achieved this during the 2020 season in a match against Rajasthan Royals at Sharjah.
Batting first, Punjab Kings put up a big total of 223/2, with Mayank smashing a century in just 45 balls. He scored 106 runs off 50 balls, hitting 10 fours and seven sixes.
However, despite his brilliant performance, Punjab Kings couldn’t win the game. Rajasthan Royals chased down the target, scoring 226/6, thanks to Sanju Samson’s quick 85 off 42 balls.
